Since 1990Family owned

Family-owned since 1990 in Sawyer, Kansas. Trand runs a Liebherr heavy-lift fleet from 40 to 980 tons for wind energy, refineries, gas plants and industrial construction.

Introduction

Trand has been lifting the Heartland since 1990. What began with nine oilfield rig-up trucks is now a fleet of Liebherr giants and a crew that treats every pick like their own name is on the hook. Because it is.

Three Trand Liebherr all-terrain cranes with booms raised in the yard

We were the first company in the United States to own sister Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 cranes, and the first to own the Liebherr LG 1750 lattice boom. Today that fleet works wind farms, gas plants, refineries and job sites across the Midwest.

Why Trand

Big iron is only half the job. Most of our service happens outside the crane, in the planning, the calls and the extra mile before and after every lift.

Wind-ready fleet

Our LG 1800 services towers up to 120 m hub height without a heavy lift system, which cuts the loads mobilized to your site roughly in half.

First in the U.S.

First American owner of the Liebherr LG 1750 and of sister LTM 1750-9.1s. Our LG 1750 is the only one in North America with a full luffer and S12 configuration.

Certified crews

NCCCO-certified operators, trained riggers and CDL-A drivers, all subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening.

Family owned

Small, family-owned and personal. Call in and you can ask for the family by name. That is how we have operated since 1990.

Our business is lifting objects, but our focus is on people. We meet our clients’ needs by going the extra mile, and that is why so much of our service happens outside the crane.Terry & Sandra Arnett, Owners

We stay responsive through demob and into the next job. Our customers have kept calling us back for more than three decades.

Meet Big Bertha
980TON

The Liebherr LG 1800-1.0 is the newest member of our fleet. Before delivery, Terry Arnett and Andrea Patterson met with the factory several times and suggested changes that make her work more easily in the USA. She is the Mother of All Cranes, and she is one bad mother.

Frequently
asked questions

Our fleet runs from a 40-ton Grove RT540E up to Big Bertha, a 980-ton Liebherr LG 1800-1.0. In between are two 900-ton lattice and all-terrain Liebherrs, a 350-ton LTM 1300-6.2 and a lineup of 70 to 110 ton rough terrain cranes.

Yes. Wind is a large part of our work. Our operators have performed hundreds of rotor removals along with gearbox, blade and other major component exchanges, on towers up to 141 m hub height.

We are based in Sawyer, Kansas and work across Kansas and the surrounding states, including Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri. Wind farms and plants call us from further afield too. Ask us about your site.

Absolutely. Load charts are available for our fleet. Call (620) 672-9495 and ask for Andrea Patterson (Arnett), or email trand@trandinc.com with the crane and configuration you need.

Send us the load weight, lift radius, site location and dates, and we will recommend the right crane and configuration. Call, fax or email and we will get right back to you.
